About Legion

Legion LLC, DBA Legion Solutions, is a full-service corrosion company providing corrosion control, pipeline integrity management and cathodic protection (CP) design, materials, installation, testing, training, inspection, and project management. We are a certified minority-owned and operated small business with decades of experience in the oil, gas, water, wastewater, and utility industries. Position Summary

Legion Solutions is seeking an entry-level technician to be based out of our San Ramon, CA office to complement our Corrosion Engineering and Integrity Management Team. If you are looking to get a start or accelerate your career in the corrosion and cathodic protection business, this will be a great job for you! Working experience in cathodic protection, coating inspection, pipeline inspection, mechanic, etc. is a plus but not required – compensation will be considered based on experience. We are a small company that is rapidly growing, which means there is opportunity for growth if you possess the work ethic, proper attitude, and willingness to learn. 


You will be responsible for data collection in the field and date processing on the computer, research and analyses for corrosion and pipeline integrity-related projects. You will be working with other team members to perform detailed analyses and data evaluation for client pipelines and facilities. Eventually you will be responsible for data collection, minor repairs, creating technical reports, and directly interacting with customers.


  • Testing and assessing cathodic protection systems
  • Gather field data including but not limited to structure-to-soil potentials, soil resistivity, continuity, rectifier output, anode output, etc.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair cathodic protection rectifiers
  • Operate equipment such as test rectifiers, insulating tester, pipe locator, portable power generator, field computer, etc.
  • Tabulate and organize field date
  • Prepare cathodic protection survey reports for review
  • Assess issues and problems in the field and respond accordingly under the direction of senior engineers and/or supervisor 
  • Maintain client relationships with the goal of meeting customer expectations
  • Work in compliance with technical, safety and compliance procedures and guidelines


Minimum Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or greater
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to qualify and maintain Operator Qualification (OQ) standards.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively under time constraints.
  • Ability to tailor communications to everyone from the Janitor to managers/supervisors.
  • Exhibit great attention to details.
  • Willingness to develop skills and certifications through applicable industry organizations, such as NACE International.

Working Environment / Physical Demands

  • Travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to drive off-road or a willingness to learn.
  • Some work will be in the field and remote wilderness locations.
  • You may be frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, reach, climb and bend.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a "Fit for Duty" physical and drug screening.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
